Key Stage 2 BrightSparks Resources: The Firebird
The resources in this article are designed to help you and your class prepare for, or work in response to, the LPO's BrightSparks Key Stage 2 concert featuring 'The Firebird' by Igor Stravinsky.
With extra information about the orchestra, music, and theme for the concert, this resource pack, created by concert presenter Rachel Leach and the London Philharmonic Orchestra, includes suggestions for classroom activities and tips for teaching the participation song, ‘The Deal.’ It also includes some background information on Stravinsky, his music, and the story of The Firebird.
Teachers who did not attend the concert will still find this resource pack useful for delivering lessons about orchestral music or The Firebird in many areas of the curriculum.
