Create & Take Part
At the heart of the LPO is our mission to share the wonder of world-class music with the broadest possible audience. A big part of that is through our wide-ranging Education and Community programme.
It’s a two-way bridge: we share the music and expertise of our musicians, our passion for music and belief in its power to inspire and uplift, with participants from all walks of life. In turn, our participants bring their creativity, enthusiasm and unique perspectives into the Orchestra to revitalise, enrich and enhance our practice and relevance to the world in which we live.

Working together
We work in partnership with other organisations to enhance our programme and reach a diverse range of participants. We collaborate regularly with major conservatoires on our Rising Talent programme, and with Drake Music and Crisis UK in our community projects.
In London, we work with the newly-formed South East London Music Hub, in particular with Lambeth Music Service, Southwark Music, Lewisham Music and Royal Greenwich Music Service, who recommend our participant schools and support the ongoing development of our schools projects.
Beyond London, we are proud to work with partners in our residency areas of Brighton, Eastbourne and Saffron Walden, and local communities along the south coast. We are also partners of the Sussex Music Hub, including Create Music and West Sussex Music.
