LPO Junior Artists: Overture Day – London

Applications are now closed for this Overture day.

If you’re aged 11–14 and Grade 4+ standard on your orchestral instrument, come and join London Philharmonic Orchestra musicians at our free LPO Junior Artists: Overture Day on Sunday 17 March 2024 at Saint Gabriel’s College in London.

What to expect

LPO Junior Artists: Overture days are free, fun orchestral skills days where participants play alongside LPO musicians, get tips on musicianship and find out what happens behind the scenes of a professional orchestra. In this Overture day we will explore music from both sides of the Atlantic, including Dvorak’s ‘New World’ Symphony, Copland’s ‘Rodeo’, and a brand new arrangement of ‘The Corryvreckan Whirlpool’ by emerging Scottish composer Aileen Sweeney!

Where and when?

The day will take place at Saint Gabriel’s College, Langton Road, London, SW9 6UL from 10.30am – 4.30pm. At 4pm there will be a performance showcasing the pieces we have explored, which will be open to friends and family.  This Overture day is part of the 2024 Classical Vauxhall festival.
