Elizaveta Tyun

First Violin

Elizaveta joined the London Philharmonic Orchestra in August 2023.

Music has been Elizaveta’s greatest passion since her first violin lessons at the age of five, and she first appeared on stage as soloist at the age of eight with a symphony orchestra from Lindau, Germany. In the same year Elizaveta entered the Specialist Music School of the St Petersburg Conservatoire. In 2012 she became a student of Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, and a year later was chosen to lead Chetham’s Symphony Orchestra for a Royal Festival Hall performance, as well as becoming a Category Finalist of the BBC Young Musician 2014.

The following year Elizaveta was awarded a full entrance scholarship, kindly provided by Soiree d’Or Committee, to study at the Royal College of Music. After graduating from her Bachelor course with a First Class Honours degree as a student of Dr Felix Andrievsky, Elizaveta entered the Master of Arts programme at the Royal Academy of Music as a student of maestro Jack Liebeck, admitted to Academy entrance scholarship and supported by the Stephen Bell Charitable Trust.

In 2016 Elizaveta won First Prize at the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, and was awarded a performance at Royal Albert Hall. She has enjoyed performing in many other venues across the UK, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France and Italy. During her time in the UK Elizaveta has had the honour to perform for members of the Royal Family on several occasions, and has also frequently appeared as a soloist with British orchestras.

Elizaveta took part in both the LSO String Experience scheme and the BBC Symphony Orchestra Pathways scheme. Since then she has been invited numerous times to participate in LSO and BBCSO concerts, as well as concerts with the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, BBC Concert, Bournemouth Symphony and Oxford Philharmonic orchestras.
