Lena Fankhauser

Lena Fankhauser is a violist of Trinidadian-Swiss heritage born in Montreal.

Lena received both her Bachelor and Master’s degrees from The Juilliard School of Music. She currently resides in Vienna, Austria, and has toured worldwide both as an avid chamber and orchestral musician. As the founder of a chamber music festival, co-founder of a film orchestra, music curator, panel speaker and jury member, her interests extend to many aspects of the cultural landscape.

She is a viola coach of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, and a founding member and principal violist of the Chineke! Orchestra, which champions change and celebrates diversity in classical music.

Lena is a member of the of the Advisory Council of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, and sits on the Orchestra’s Diversity and Inclusion Steering Committee.
