Crisis Creates
A project offering creative performance opportunities to adults who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness.
Our Crisis Creates project offers creative performance opportunities to adults who have experienced or are at risk of homelessness. Working with national charity Crisis UK, we aim to improve participants’ wellbeing and confidence through self-expression, collaboration and developing creative skills.
Creating and performing together
Over five days of workshops, Crisis members devise music and lyrics with LPO musicians and workshop leaders, inspired by the Orchestra’s repertoire. The group then perform their work at a free public concert at the Southbank Centre, with friends and family welcome, and attend an LPO concert later in the evening.
The Crisis performance is professionally filmed so that participants have a record of their creation.
A safe space for creativity
The project offers a safe space for participants to express themselves, work together and create a high-quality performance that brings a sense of togetherness, pride and achievement.
Next performance
Our next Crisis Creates showcase will take place at the Royal Festival Hall on Wednesday 2 April 2025 at 6pm.
Crisis Creates 2024/25 is generously supported by Scops Arts Trust.
