Memory is essential and intangible. We rely on it and yet it is unreliable. Memory is who we are. Or is it?

Join us at Debut Sounds, our annual showcase of new works by the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s Young Composers, featuring unique performances at the forefront of contemporary creativity. This year, music and spoken word collide, as composers collaborate with five talented poets from the Southbank Centre’s New Poets Collective, each creating new works inspired by memory, all under the mentorship of award-winning LPO Composer-in-Residence, Tania León.

A further celebration of emerging talent, the music will be performed by an ensemble of musicians from the LPO Foyle Future Firsts Development Programme, alongside LPO players, conducted by LPO Fellow Conductor Juya Shin.

Exploring themes such as false memory, nostalgia, the memory of place and the idea of creating memorable experiences, and performed by the most exciting artists, this is sure to be an unforgettable night.

A London Philharmonic Orchestra project in collaboration with the Southbank Centre’s Creative Engagement team and the National Poetry Library.
