Key Stage 2 BrightSparks – Eastbourne
Join the London Philharmonic Orchestra as we take a musical trip to the USA! From 19th century Pennsylvania to a voyage across the Atlantic, we will encounter new stories, characters, and musical motifs, as well as some familiar folk favourites.
On Thursday 9 May we are bringing our Key Stage 2 BrightSparks schools’ concert to Eastbourne’s Congress Theatre!
In this concert, the LPO, conducted by Charlotte Politi, will perform the celebrated classic Appalachian Spring by Aaron Copland, and an array of American and America-inspired music by Copland, Errollyn Wallen and Joan Tower. Presenter Rachel Leach will guide us through the fabulous music, and with a fun song to sing with the Orchestra and plenty of audience interaction throughout, this is sure to be an unforgettable concert experience for Key Stage 2 children.
A free resource pack, including the audience participation songs, is available to all bookers in advance of the concert. Teachers who book tickets for our Eastbourne concert are also invited to attend a free after-school INSET session on Thursday 18 April. (Venue to be confirmed. Must be booked in advance).
Tickets to the concert are £3 per pupil and free for accompanying adults.
