LPO Junior Artists: Overture Day (London)

Applications are now closed.

If you’re aged 11–14 and Grade 4+ standard on your orchestral instrument, come and join London Philharmonic Orchestra musicians at our free LPO Junior Artists: Overture Day on Tuesday 1 August at St John’s Waterloo in London.

What to expect

LPO Junior Artists: Overture days are free, fun orchestral skills days where participants play alongside LPO musicians, get tips on musicianship and find out what happens behind the scenes of a professional orchestra. In this Overture day we will explore music from Georges Bizet’s remarkable opera, which tells the story of a fiery, passionate and strong woman, Carmen. We will also play some sunny summer music from Brazil!

Where and when?

The day will take place at St John’s Waterloo, 73 Waterloo Road, London, SE1 8TY from 10.30am – 5.00pm.

At 4.30pm there will be a performance showcasing the pieces we have explored, which will be open to friends and family.

The highlight of the day was the performance in front of the audience. I also liked making friends with other participants, and the musicians were very friendly and helpful – I loved learning from them!
