Four notes that changed the world.
You already know the beginning of Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony, but that’s just the start of a musical adventure like no other: a passionate struggle from darkness to light, from a genius who declared that Fate itself was knocking at his door. Conductor James Henshaw lights the fuse, and joins LPO Principal Horn Annemarie Federle in something completely different: pure fun from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, the composer whom Beethoven revered above all others. The ultimate comedy overture gets things off to a flying start.

On OK!: A Celebration of Oliver Knussen in 2021/22 concert season
Federle’s upper register is magnificent: there is no loss of tone whatsoever and the confidence and accuracy is mesmeric in and of itself.
